Developed with the aim to lower the boundaries of accessing laser cutting technology, Fabulaser Mini represents an ideal compromise between performance and cost. With an optimized 40W CO2 laser, it is able to easily cut 8mm acrylic, and with a cutting area of 600x400mm is one the largest of this machine category. The compact machine size of 870x810x380mm and the weight under 60kg, allows the usage in small rooms with a normal table or desk.

Designed, fabricated and assembled with the aim of creating the best compromise between costs, printing area and accessibility, BigFDM is not only a powerful open source 3D Printer, but also a demonstrator of what is possible to make with Fab Labs technologies. In fact, taking advantage of what we have learned in Fab Academy, BigFDM has been developed using the standard Fab Lab equipment and digital fabrication techniques.  

The aim of the Fab Academy kit is to provide Fab Academy students a minimum set of Fab Lab functionalities at home. The content of the kit is tailored to the tools the students need to make many of the Fab Academy assignment, without the need to reach a Fab Academy node. Especially useful for remote students, and students that want to increase their productivity at home, the Fab Academy Kit can also be used from people that wants to get closer to Fab Labs and practice digital fabrication techniques.
